Join a thrilling 3-day group camping safari to explore Tarangire National Park and the Ngorongoro Crater. This adventure takes you through the renowned Ngorongoro Crater, often referred to as the Garden of Eden, where you’ll have the chance to spot the rare black rhino. In Tarangire National Park, you’ll encounter majestic elephants, iconic baobab trees, tree-climbing pythons, lions, leopards, and a variety of other wildlife. This tour offers the unique opportunity to see all of the Big Five in a short period, making it an unforgettable experience.

Tour Plan

Upon your arrival at either Arusha Airport or Kilimanjaro Airport, you will be greeted and transferred to your accommodation in Arusha city for an overnight stay.

At 8:00 AM, you’ll be picked up from your hotel in Arusha and embark on a three-hour drive to Tarangire National Park, located 115 km from Arusha and covering an area of 2,800 square kilometers. You’ll spend the day on a full-day game drive, exploring the park’s unique landscape where the Tarangire River attracts a diverse range of wildlife. Key attractions include large elephant herds, tree-climbing pythons, and majestic baobab trees. You might also encounter lions, leopards, and various other animals. Later in the afternoon, you’ll visit a nearby Maasai boma to learn about Maasai culture and traditions. Dinner and overnight accommodation will be at Jambo Lodge.

Rise early for a 6:30 AM breakfast before departing for the Ngorongoro Crater. Descend into the crater floor for a full-day game drive, where you’ll have the opportunity to see the Big Five and various bird species, including the rare black rhino. Enjoy a picnic lunch inside the crater, taking in the stunning natural surroundings and the high concentration of flamingos. The Ngorongoro Crater, the world’s largest inactive and intact volcanic caldera, offers a breathtaking backdrop and was recognized as one of the Seven Natural Wonders of Africa in 2015. The crater is home to over 6,000 wildebeest, 5,000 black-spotted hyenas, 3,000 zebras, 2,000 elands, 2,000 gazelles, 150 elephants, more than 35 lions, and 20 black rhinos, among other wildlife. After a full day of exploration, your driver-guide will return you to Arusha for an overnight stay.
