MOUNT MERU OVERVIEW

Standing at an impressive 4,566 meters (14,980 ft), Mount Meru is a dormant stratovolcano nestled within Arusha National Park, approximately 70 kilometers (43 miles) west of Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania. While the climb typically spans four days, determined trekkers can complete the ascent in three days. On clear days, Mount Meru is visible from Mount Kilimanjaro and is considered the fifth-highest peak in Africa. As the second highest mountain in Tanzania, Mount Meru offers a serene climbing experience with minimal crowds and the unique opportunity to encounter diverse wildlife along the trails.
